Meet Nicki Traikos

I don’t believe there’s a one-size-fits-all approach to starting and creating a business around selling your art.

My philosophy for entrepreneurship and life is that it has to make you happy, feed your soul, and fit your personality and lifestyle. This WILL look different to everyone.

My goal for life YOU design, my 12-month program, is that you have time to plan and start making money from your art, and in a way that feels authentic to you! Through my Notes lessons, I will help you design & create an authentic version of an art-based business that is right for YOU. It was scary for me too.  I look back at all the experiences I have had, all the people whom I got to meet, and all the art that I got to share, and that is more thrilling than the fear of working towards my dreams!

I started life i design when I turned 40 and haven’t looked back! I have done everything from selling my art to designing for brands like Hallmark to having my art printed on home goods sold in retail stores. I have created popular online art classes and have helped over 70,000 artists learn watercolor painting in a way that is supportive, successful, and enjoyable.  I have authored a watercolor technique book called Watercolor Made Simple that has been #1 on Amazon internationally. 

I work with top-notch brands like Winsor & Newton and Etchr Lab. I have been featured in magazines like In Her Studio and Where Women Create. I host a podcast called life i design, the podcast where I share advice about art, business, and create a life you love. I’m passionate about helping WOMEN who have dreamed about making art get started, and now I am fired up to help those same WOMEN make money from their art and become more courageous, successful, and empowered too!
